We think cradle to cradle for our product and its packaging, and consider the impact our materials have on the planet at every step of the way. During design, we carefully select materials that are durable. During manufacture, we look to repurpose existing materials and packaging so they can serve an unexpected purpose, add value, and bring joy to our customers. And, though everything we make is built to last, we ensure that our products are easy to recycle with your local waste management company at the end of their long lifespan.
Here’s a look at the specific sustainable features in our materials:
Cabinets
People are behind every piece of furniture we make, not just machines. We appreciate craftsmanship; it takes years to achieve this level of excellence. We pay all our employees fair wages, offer health insurance, and create a safe and supportive working environment. Every cabinet purchased contributes to someone’s livelihood.
Lode cabinets are constructed using solid birch wood. We turned to this material due to the sustainable carbon sequestration of birch trees. Our birch is sourced locally, thus having a lower transporting carbon emission than tropical hardwoods. For each tree we harvest, the farm plants three more in its place. A single birch tree can absorb 20kg of carbon every year, helping offset climate change.
Lode cabinets are proudly Forest Stewardship Council® certified, the leading international authority on sustainable forest management. The FSC® certification guarantees that our teak wood is harvested from sustainably managed forests and that the harvested tree is either replaced or allowed to regenerate. A FSC® designation is considered the "gold standard" for wood harvested from forests that are responsibly managed, socially beneficial, environmentally conscious, and economically viable.
Lode cabinets are fully EPA TSCA Title VI compliant, also known as CARB2 compliant; and finished with AkzoNobel—a leading global company in sustainable lead-free paints, stains, and coatings for formaldehyde emissions.
Lode manages, maintains, and fully complies with all National Kitchen & Bath Association (NKBA) guidelines to assure our customers of the best practices in design and functionality.
Countertops
Through green and environmentally-friendly mining technology, our natural stone, pre-fabricated, and cut-to-size countertops are sourced from responsibly managed quarries known for premium-grade materials in Namibia, Africa and North Carolina, USA. Lode uses the greenest machinery available and actively seeks the safest procedures to recycle water and waste material. Lode is a member of the Marble Institue of America and the Building Stone Institute.
Flooring
Our stone-plastic composite (SPC) flooring collection is primarily made with calcium powder, resin and a kind of stabilizer, which is 100% environmental protection floor without any hazardous substance, like heavy metal or formaldehyde.
Sinks
We use recycled premium heavy 18 gauge and type 304 stainless steel, which combines chromium and nickel in exactly the right proportions. Lode sinks are extraordinarily resistant to stains, cracks, and corrosion. They also protect against condensation, absorb sound, and maintain water temperature.
Lode currently operates in the state of Texas.

The construction process for a renovation project typically involves several key steps. Here is a summary of the process:
Preparation and Demolition: The area is prepared by protecting surrounding surfaces and creating a clean workspace. Existing fixtures, cabinets, appliances, and finishes are removed.
Structural Modifications: If structural changes are required, such as removing or adding walls, load-bearing assessments are conducted and necessary reinforcements or modifications are made.
Framing and Installation: New walls, partitions, or frameworks are constructed as needed. Cabinetry and countertops are installed according to the design plan.
Flooring Finishes: Flooring materials are installed.
Millwork and Trim: Installation of decorative elements like crown molding, baseboards, and trim work. Custom millwork, such as built-in cabinets or shelves, is crafted and installed.
Finishing Touches: Final adjustments, alignments, and caulking are done. Hardware, such as handles, knobs, and pulls, is added. Final paint touch-ups and cleaning of the renovated space.
Inspections and Approvals: Building inspectors may visit the site to ensure compliance with local codes and regulations. Obtaining necessary approvals or certificates for the completed renovation, if required.
Final Walkthrough and Handover: The renovation project is inspected by the homeowner and professionals involved. Any remaining issues or touch-ups are addressed. The space is handed over to the homeowner, who can now enjoy their newly renovated space.
It is important to note that the specific construction process can vary depending on the complexity of the renovation, the scope of work, and local regulations. Working with experienced professionals, such as contractors, architects, or designers, can help ensure a smooth and successful construction process for your renovation.
Preparing for the construction phase of your renovation project is an exciting and important phase. Here are some steps to help you prepare for this milestone:
Confirm Permits and Approvals: Ensure that you & your contractor have obtained all necessary permits and approvals from the local building department, homeowner's association, or any other relevant governing bodies. This includes building permits, zoning approvals, and any special permissions required for your specific renovation project.
Clear the Construction Area: Remove any obstacles or items that may hinder the construction process. Clear the construction area of debris, vegetation, and any personal belongings. Make sure the site is easily accessible for construction equipment and workers. Most contractors require a minimum of a 10' x 10' staging area and may require more depending on scope—plan to have this space utilized for the duration of your renovation.
Protect Surrounding Areas: Identify and protect areas adjacent to the construction site that may be susceptible to damage or disruption during the renovation. This may involve covering or securing nearby structures, landscaping, or fragile features to prevent accidents or unnecessary complications. While you're at it, make sure to remove any valuable or sentimental items for safekeeping.
Set Up Temporary Utilities: If needed, arrange for temporary utilities such as electrical connections, water supply, or portable restrooms to support the construction phase. This ensures that the construction team has access to the necessary resources throughout the project.
Communicate with Neighbors: Notify your neighbors about the upcoming renovation project and its expected duration. Discuss any potential disruptions, noise, or inconveniences that may occur during construction. Maintain open lines of communication to address any concerns and minimize the impact on neighboring properties.
Schedule Construction Activities: Coordinate with your contractor or construction team to establish a detailed construction schedule. This helps ensure that the project progresses smoothly and according to the planned timeline. Discuss any specific requirements or milestones for the first day of construction.
By following these steps, you can adequately prepare for the construction phase of your renovation project and set the stage for a successful and efficient construction phase.
The duration of a renovation project can vary significantly depending on several factors, including the scope and complexity of the project, the size of the space being renovated, the availability of materials and labor, and unforeseen circumstances that may arise during the construction process. While it is challenging to provide an exact timeline without specific project details, here are some general factors that can influence the duration of a renovation:
Project Size and Scope: The size and complexity of the renovation project play a significant role in determining the timeline. Larger projects or those involving extensive structural changes, additions, or multiple rooms typically require more time for planning, design, and construction compared to smaller-scale renovations.
Planning and Design Phase: The planning and design phase can vary in length depending on the level of detail required, the involvement of architects or designers, and any necessary permits or approvals. This phase involves developing construction plans, obtaining permits, and making design decisions, which can impact the overall timeline of the project.
Material Selection and Procurement: The time required for selecting and procuring materials can affect the construction timeline. Factors such as availability, lead times, and any custom or specialized items can influence the overall duration of the project. It is important to factor in potential delays in material delivery when estimating the project timeline.
Contractor and Subcontractor Availability: The availability of contractors and subcontractors can impact the construction timeline. If the contractor has other ongoing projects or there is a high demand for construction services in your area, it may take longer to secure their services and begin the project. Coordinating schedules with different trades and specialists involved in the renovation can also influence the duration.
Unforeseen Issues: Renovation projects may encounter unexpected challenges or issues during construction, such as hidden structural problems, electrical or plumbing issues, or the need for additional permits. These unforeseen circumstances can prolong the project timeline as they require additional time and resources to address effectively.
Seasonal Considerations: Depending on the region and climate, seasonal factors can impact the duration of a renovation project. Inclement weather conditions, particularly for exterior work, can cause delays and affect the overall timeline. Planning the project start date with seasonal considerations in mind can help mitigate potential weather-related delays.
It's best to consult with your contractor to develop a realistic timeline for your specific renovation project. They can assess the project scope, consider the factors mentioned above, and provide a more accurate estimate based on their experience and expertise. Regular communication and updates throughout the construction process can also help manage expectations and address any delays or changes that may arise.
Absolutely not. We've spread out the milestone payments throughout the entire project timeline, and we won't collect payment or begin work until you've secured financing.
We accept all major credit cards, checks, cashier checks, cash, Apple Pay, as well as PayPal.
No, we currently do not offer financing options.
Ready-to-assemble (RTA) cabinets are shipped to your job site in flat boxes. The pieces are all cut to size, labeled, and finished with the hardware holes pre-drilled and ready to be assembled. The cabinets typically take between 15 to 30 minutes to assemble, and do not require any power tools.
Unlike IKEA cabinets, our cabinets do NOT come with hundreds of parts and countless assembly stems. If you can use a non-powered screwdriver, you will have no issue assembling RTA.
Shipping RTA cabinets cuts down on shipping charges as well as shipping damages. Our cabinets are well protected from any shipping damage. The cost savings on assembling the cabinets, shipping fully stacked assembled cabinets, and other related expenses are passed to our customers to offer much lower wholesale pricing. We typically save our customer about 20% on the entire kitchen cabinet project.
Stone-plastic composite (SPC) is a type of luxury vinyl plank flooring that's made from a blend of stone powder, plastic, and foaming agents. It's designed to look like traditional materials like stone, ceramic, or wood, and is often considered an upgrade from engineered wood flooring. SPC flooring is durable, waterproof, and has a resilient core layer. It's also available in a variety of colors and styles, and is typically 4–6 mm thick.
